San Francisco Airport (IATA:SFO) is located 21 kilometers south of the city. It was opened in 1927 and since then has grown and modernized.

By number of passengers (40 million annually) San Francisco Airport is the second largest in California behind Los Angeles International Airport.

There are four terminals at San Francisco Airport. Each terminal at SFO Airport is linked by the AirTrain system and has the full complement of services, shops and restaurants that the modern passenger would expect at an airport.

San Francisco Airport is easily connected to the Bay Area and downtown San Francisco by road or rail, with buses, taxis, car rental companies and the Metro Rail all operating from the airport. Drivers can expect to find a parking option for any purpose at San Francisco Airport with lots available for electric cars and bicycles, as well as short term or long term stays.

San Francisco Airport: Terminals & Airlines

San Francisco Airport has four terminals. This terminals are linked together by the AirTrain internal transit system, operating 24 hours per day. It is also possible for passengers to walk between terminals. Each terminal serves several airlines and a large number of destinations. Each terminal is well served by restaurants, bars, newsstands, shops, and ATMs (cash machines).

Please note that there is no secure transit area for passengers transferring from an international to a domestic flight. Passengers exiting the Arrivals Hall are in the airport's public area and are required to go through the security checkpoint at the boarding area for their next flight.
